Try this download a hud from soffiles open the pk3 file and see how it is made up, e-mail the author and ask if you can alter it and make your own I'm sure the author would give you more advise..

Good Luck :p

hi...... i tried to make my own hud yesterday, and i did what you said by downloading a hud and looking at its structure.... so what i basiclly have now is my own hud built in the same way as all the other huds iv downloaded (files are all .png and all in the correct folders) i can also .pk3 it no problem. but what i seem to be missing is a couple of files there called Thumbs.db i basiclly want to know what those files do and how do i make them myself my hud does'nt seem to work without them....................cheers all

hey, i've been having a HuD probelm also, i downloaded a custom one and wanted to change the armor/health bar thingy, so i went in, did the standard proceedure. i put it back in there using winRAR overwriting the existing file, went into the game and my health and armor bar stat things don't appear. i'm lost and confused :(

When making HUD's i think its easier to edit the original png files that come within the pk3 files on the game, and mark out the cutouts with guide lines so you know where to start and stop!!!

They should all be saved as .PNG files and all within the folder structure gfx>menus>hud Ive never noticed the thumbs fle to cause a difference, or noticed anything when using them or not! Why are they there? :uhm:

i got the hud probelm solved but i've been wondering, would it be possible to make the actual HuD size larger?

To edit a hud you have to open ui/hud.menu in mp.pk3 and edit that file, it's not that simpel but if you do it allot it get's really easy ;)

Thumbz - is a file that winxp creates so you can see the little thumbnails that you see in the file folders. It is hidden and not necessary (junk). Delete them from your pk3s since they often are larger than the png/jpgs.
