Hey guys, My problem is this:

I have 2 computers in my house running sof2 through a router. After many hours of setting the router up correctly to get my server to show up in the internet section, I noticed that when both my computers enter my server (runner) they have the same skin. In fact, they have what ever skin the first computer to load into the server is using... What is causing this, and how do I fix it? Thank you... sarge

Thanks for the reply!!

pure server = you can only play the game with skins sounds etc,etc that came with the game unpure server = you can play the game with custom skins sounds etc,etc i think the setting is sv_pure 1 = pure, sv_pure 0 = unpure, thats a guess but i think thats it but if it's wrong someone will correct me.

Great, I will try to change it.

Does it make a difference if I am using "Runner" to set up my server? The reason I am asking, I am wondering if "Runner" in the admin mod, has some sort of setting...

Any more comments from anyone? Are there risks using a "unpure" server?

Thanks for the reply!!! I owe ya. sarge

Yes it does, on the server tab you see a box you need to check to make the server unpure.

Thanks Sir Paul,

Can you tell me if running an "unpure" server increases the risk of someone entering my computer?

Also, would I need to change to an unpure server if both of my computers are using a standard player skin?

Thanks!

SGT_PARKERThanks Sir Paul,

Can you tell me if running an "unpure" server increases the risk of someone entering my computer?

Do you mean Hacking ? running an unpure server would make no difference, running unpure allows you to run custom maps, weapons and skins. Punkbuster isdesigned to help with hack.

Also, would I need to change to an unpure server if both of my computers are using a standard player skin?

You should be able to play sof2 on both computers differently as long as the game is installed on both, you will need 2 seperate games though because of the cdkey. You make a lan game to play pc to pc however playing via the internet you could play pure on one and unpure on the other.
