I had the same trouble

the best way to fix it is d/load and use "SOF2 RUNNER" works like a dream it takes a bit of getting used to setting it up..when u done that its easy.

:deal:

Hi $ir Paulus, I'm certain you've covered this b4 somewhere but I've just gotta ask. Can u offer a link to a/the "SOF2 Runner" file and also send me a simple map cycle file that I can edit for the maps I wish to run on my server. I run a pure server a couple of days every week [ADSL] so no real serious stoppers, but it just cycles to the same map each time the score limit is reached or time runs out. Then I offer a vote to change to another map. Very egalitarian but not wot I really want to happen. Simple in HL mods so it can't be that difficult in SOF2 can it? Thnx!!:smokin:

You can get the SOF2 RUNNER from here..http://runner.gameadmins.com/

and one of my mapfiles here http://www.tbcc.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/altgames.mapcycle

This mapcycle gives you different game types

another suggestion d/load the mandown mod..its got loads of mapcycles ready to use

ENJOY

That wuz qwik!! OK so d/ld the files you suggested, and now have a copy of a simple game.cfg file to edit at my liesure. A few questions spring to mind $ir Paulus. 1. What did that "SOF2_Runner" file add to my system? 2. Where? [don't see an additional folder as expected] 3. How do I activate this in the game itself please? 4. Also, when I've editted your game_cfg file, into which folder do I save it please? Thnx :uhm:

$ir Paulus Found where the SPF2 Runner installed to [where I'd directed it no less!]. Also now see where the map cycle file sits [I think] in the "SOF2\base\mp" folder... correct? Opened and editted/configured all the necessary options in the Runner I think, and ran it. Received an "SOF2 Runner Error" mssge back saying this :- "Following error occured in this application Path not found Number:76 Source:SOF2 Runner::Code. CreatSOF2Configuration (function) (proSOF3DemoRunner) OK" Any ideas here plse would be gratefully accepted Thnx:uhm:

Oky here goes

#1 you now run your server from sof2 runner..not the sof2 game it will launch ur dedicated server for you, you can then join your server via the usual way

#2 What folder are you expecting ?? dont understand

#3 when you have installed sof2 runner you activate the mapcycle by selecting it

#4 the mapcycle file lives in your base folder

oky how to make the mapcycle file from my link

#1 copy all the information to a new notepad file #2 save it as altgames.mapcycle #3 it will have saved it like this altgames.mapcycle.txt #4 rename this so it just reads altgames.mapcycle it will ask if u are sure ..just say yes #5 put the said file into your sof2/base folder #6 open sof2 runner click on the mapcycle tab and select the map cycle

job done *** you must read the help file on how to configure sof2 runner ***

** YOU HAVE TO TELL SOF2 RUNNER WHERE THE SOF2MP.EXE LIVES **

ie where you launch your game from..(not the shortcut) "x:\Soldier of Fortune II - Double Helix\SoF2MP.exe" x= your drive letter !!
