I have cable modem, but suffer horrible lag on most servers. Also, I get disconnected from many servers just as the first map is loaded, without being able to start playing.

I have already disabled my firewall and closed almost all other programs.

Any recommendations?

Nope, just running SOF2, and getting lousy performance. I am running on Windows 98, Pentium IV 500MHz processor, 128MB RAM.

Do I need more RAM?

You need to figure out what you REALLY have becuase they never made a pentium IV at 500mhz, the slowest one was 1100 or 1200Mhz i think, I may be a bit low but I have a pentium IV 1300mhz so I know they made that! Oh and whats your video card? are you running a separate accelerator card or onboard video? If you don't have the newest video card drivers this could be hampering performance, Get the newest video card driver, you'll need directx 8.1 support also. hope this helps.

Turn the client Max FPS down abit, and if you are runnin Comcast, Ditch it, because comcast is the worst rated internet service, by PC world.
