Can you give us info on your computer? CPU type and speed, motherboard, video card, directX version, how old the drivers are, version of windows, version of the game, etc.

Also, are you using any MODs?

this happens to me some times even when i am not playin sof2. dosen't happen much but it just resets now and again so it might not be your sof2 game, it might be something todo with the comp. But touch wood it aint happened for a while but it would be nice to get an answer on this.

I'm not too sure what to tell you. I'm an A+ Certified professional technician, and if I was in front of your computer I could probably find out what the problem is. It's hard to solve problems like this over e-mail. If you think it's something with the video card, try using a different driver for it. The drivers that come with Windows XP often cause problems with games. Another possible problem is a virus. I have seen viruses that cause the problems you describe. Do you have any anti-virus software installed? Also, could you try the DirectX Diagnostics?

I have the latest version of Norton AV installed so i'm almost positive it's not a virus, i havn't tried DirectX diagnostics but that might be a good idea, i dunno, i guess i'll just have to troubleshoot this a litlle while while longer...thx

You could also check the device manager for errors and run scandisk. If scandisk finds any errors, that might be the cause of the problem, and you could reinstall the game after fixing the errors. When you run scandisk, do a full scan that includes a surface scan to see if your hard drive has any bad parts. It is very hard to predict the life of hard drives. I have seen some new ones fail in two weeks, and others run for years without problems.
