beeflaps if you could compile a list of stuff to buy I would prefer to build my own.Just not too sure what to buy. Ive got an empty ATX case anyways so I may as well fill it!

If its not too much trouble could you detail what components you would purchase, and from where , and possibly prices? Will there be anything (apart from my 97 pro!) I can salvage from my emachine? ie hard drive etc.

Thought it was down to it being 4X agp and the card is 8X Agp i believe, so u confirmed what I was dreading! its rapid FPS for Sof2 im after tbh, although whatever you have ur 9800 pro set up as would be good enuff 4 me!

Cheers mate, you always come up with goods!

before I list some parts, what do you want, an Athlon XP or Intel P4 rig?

I would go with Athlon, so here is some ideas.

ABIT nForce2 "NF7-S V2" $90.99

AMD Athlon XP 2800+ " Barton" $144.00

Antec 480W Power Supply,Model "TRUE480" $83.00

Corsair XMS Extreme Memory DDR 3200 (Twin Pack) 184 Pin 512MB(256MBx2) $119.00 You could buy two 512 modules if you want a gig of ram.

I reccomend a better heatsing for better cooling: Thermaltake SILENT BOOST Highest Performance Cooler for AMD AthlonXP up to 3400+ $26.99 And don't forget to use good paste for the heatsink: Arctic Silver's NEW Premium Silver Polysynthetic Thermal Compound

Now throw in your sound card (or buy a SB Audigy) Your 9700 PRO Your Hard drive (or buy new one) Your CD ROM drive and you're set. Total = $463.98 with using rest of your parts.

you're welcome :) With those parts you should have a fast gaming rig able to play the next gen games like DOOM3, Q4 ect. Good luck with your build, any questions, feel free to ask.
