Well ok, im on my 5th install after reformatting, and by jove this game is peein me off.

I click the icon and the console springs up and this is what it says...

SOF2 1.00 win-x86 May 3 2002 Initialising zone memory ..... ------- Filesystem Initialization -------- Current search path: c:/program files/soldier of fortune ii - double helix/base/textures1234.pk3 (10843 files) c:/program files/soldier of fortune ii - double helix/base/textures0.pk3 (2816 files) c:/program files/soldier of fortune ii - double helix/base/mp.pk3 (338 files) c:/program files/soldier of fortune ii - double helix/base/models.pk3 (3643 files) c:/program files/soldier of fortune ii - double helix/base/maps.pk3 (466 files) C:\Program Files\Soldier of Fortune II - Double Helix/base

18106 files in pk3 files ------------------------------------------

Running in restricted demo mode.

------- Filesystem Initialization -------- Current search path: C:\Program Files\Soldier of Fortune II - Double Helix/demo

0 files in pk3 files ------------------------------------------ Error during initialization SYSTEM ERROR Couldn't load default.cfg

------------- Input Shutdown ------------- ------------------------------------------

And thats as far as it goes.

Interestingly, last install it was looking for a different file (not the default.cfg), it was looking for sof2mp_default.cfg.

Any thoughts anyone? If i have to return to rtcw (much as i like it) i'll be somewhat less of a man.

Your help appreciated in advance.

Uber.
