Hey guys. I just dusted off my Soldier of Fortune 2 copy and stuck it in the drive. It seemed to install without any difficulty, however whenever I have tried to load a map it has failed to load because it could not find the sounds. I checked, and the musicandsounds.pk3 file was corrupt; only 445k out of about 189 megabytes to be found. So I tried to directly copy the sounds file from the CD, and after it got about a quarter of the way through, it just stopped, died, and told me I couldn't copy the file from its source.

So, this all boils down to my inquiry: Is there anywhere I can download the original SOF2 sounds file, in all its 189 megabyte glory? I believe the exact name of the file is musicandsound.pk3

Thanks for any help that can be offered. I'm itching to try out some of the newer mods and stuff. IF all else fails, is there any way I can just rig up my game so it doesn't require the sounds or music to load a damn map? I'm just itching to shoot someone.

-p.e.

I had the same problem. Not knowing that my cousin had put my CD in when there was already another game in the drive I install v1.03 of SOF2. For some reason this didn't work and i had to reinstall. This is when i found out that my disk was broken. Luckily i had it installed on another comp so I simply copied the files. If u can do this i would suggest that you copy the files and get a no cd hack to run single player. I do not think this is illeagle as you already own the game and it is in effect a back up. However i may be wrong so if your worried bout that kind of stuff don't do it. I think they have a hotline look in the manual. There you can prob get a replacement CD but u will have to pay for it.
