do i need to buy another copy of the game?

You need to have at least a dsl/cable connection. No you do not have to have a second copy to run a server as the server does not require a cd key. You would need a second pc to be a dedicated server, at least a 600mhz pc. Then all you have to do is install Sof2Runner, pick you selections and click on run. It automatically creates the files you need to run a dedicated server.
