Hi there ! I have SOF II Gold runnin on an 1.8 GHZ 512 MB DDR NVIDIA GeForce 3 TI and have the common problem with the game : it crashes since I installed DirectX9 and the newest nVidia driver !!! Someone said concerning an older thread of some guy who had the same problem to reinstall an older driver or something. Where do u get those older drivers and how do u do that ? Just install it although the other one is still installed ? Sorry, but I don´t have any experience with that !!! LATER ALL !

you know.........alot of people want older drivers so the textures on sof2 look all black with white stripes on them. Makes it easier to see people and kill them as they are not camoed at all and there is no way to blend in with that. Thats all im saying

I have had the same problem after installing the new drivers, reverting back to old one has worked for me.. In other words DO NOT accuse players of wrong doing unless you have proof, and after only 3 posts you will be gaining no friends here with that sort of comment :uhoh:

goto www.nvidia.com goto driver archives and d/l 45.23 drivers. Then goto add/remove in start panel and remove nvidia driver, then install your down loaded drivers.

Thank you guys , except for that weird guy who accused me of cheating !! LOL ! Well, anyway, I have downloaded an older driver and installed it. Then it still chrashed, and so I downloaded an DirectX9 Uninstaller, because, many friends told me, that they had the same problem since they installed DirectX9. Now I have DirectX 8.1 and it still chrashes  , so that I have to do a hard reboot! I don´t understand what´s wrong with this OS !!! I will try a different driver now! Like I said, thanx for all helpful replies so far !! CU LATER ALL!

Nope I told a little porkies, it was not The Force but Abula who gave this link (omegadrivers.com) worked for me  you will need to pick the card you have and download the driver, best of luck :)

It may be a problem with Punkbuster. Check this out. http://www.forumplanet.com/PlanetSoldierOfFortune/topic.asp?fid=2229&tid=1237619 I was crashing to desktop, but then I checked out some nonPB servers and had no problem at all. I have the 45.32 driver and was still having the same problem as you. Strangely, on some pb servers I don't have a problem. It may be that certain servers haven't updated PB yet. Since SOF2 is an openGL game and not a DX type game, I'm not sure that DX has anything to do with it.
