Wow! I can't believe how expensive 3DS Max is!!! After seeing the price, I got very discouraged on even thinking about attempting to build mod ships. The 3DS Max I'm talking about is the newest version, running for about $3,495.00. Do I need the latest version, or could I get something older? And I don't want illegal ways of obtaining the software. I prefer to be an honest man and follow the rules.

Besides, the Moderators will ban you for posting way to get software illegally.

You could try Milkshape but I don't know where you can get it.

Another option is to try and pick up on older copy of 3dsmax (v3), it will actually be better than any later versions as you can export it directly without having to convert the niff.

No, not that I'm aware of.

Also if anyone mentions obtaining the software illegally they're looking at a ban.

I'm not sure students can do this, but if you are using it for educational purposes u can get it for like 300 bucks. But I dunno if that is for teachers or students too, nor do I know how acurate it is.

I have both ProDesktop and AutoCAD. Can either of these be made to work?
