I have recently purchased a laptop and have set up SOF II on both mine and my sons machine. We can play multiplayer against each other but am wondering if and how can we play as a team against other computer generated enimies. We are only on dial up so online gaming is out of the question. Is there a way we can introduce enimies into multiplayer, or can two people play as a team in single player game. Ta, Brett and Kai,
There are many mods out there that can handle bots in multiplayer games. Obviously with dial-up you'll want something that is easily downloaded. Unfortunately, the best mod Goldrush is about 100mb so that's out of the question. There is RoCMod which is about 1mb, that can handle bots, and also pwnBOT, which is only about 600kb.
If you need any help setting these up, post back and we'll see what we can do :)

well, even with 56k you it's still able to play decently online. sure, you have a high ping, but it's manageable :)
it is impossible for 2 players to do multiplayer. i'd get goldrush as it's the best mod for adding bots to multiplayer and it has loads of extras, but it's ~100mb :( it sure is worth it though.
otherwise, get pwnbot. it's a lot smaller and just the bare bones for playing with bots :thumbsup:
EDIT: grr, you beat me to it horizon :0wned:

I've had my cofeee!1!
Good, at least I know its possible now. Where can I find / download these bot software. Also I just had a look at multiplayer and am wondering what "ping" refers to. Ta, Brett.
I just realised that you linked it to me in your reply.
Yeah each mod name is a link to the download section for each mod. :)
Also ping refers to how long it takes for you to send and recieve packets, to and from the server you are playing on;
A low ping: Means it takes less time to transfer data, therefore no lag and smoother gameplay.
A high ping: Means it takes longer, so jumpy gameplay and annoying lag.
Higher pings are usually only there for slower connections (56k etc) and trying to connect to servers on the other side of the planet. Say I was connecting to a server in London, I'd have a ping of about 30 - 50 because I'm on a 1mbit connection and I live in Newcastle. Now if I was to try and connect to a server in Japan (even though they have like 8gbit lines and whatnot) I'd have a ping of 300+ because it's further to transfer data, therefore takes longer and makes my game laggy and unplayable. It's also usually mesaured in milisenconds or ms.
Hope this helps :)
