Hello, I contracted a virus on my computer and was forced to format my hard drive and reinstall windows xp. i was on the level in single player mode right after the hospital. If you have beat the game or have at least gotten to this level, please send me your save file or post it on this forum, it was hard work getting this far and i don't want to do it all over again. Thanks to anyone that helps, and to all of you that have this file and don't help, i hope this happens to you some day and there is no one there to help you. =D lmao

Hi, I think it depends what level of difficulty you are using. If I am correct the game saves the "saves" with the difficulty level logged into it. so therefore if you played the game at the "Soldier of Fortune" level and got the game saved as "Amateur" you would have to play on in that mode. Please someone correct me if I am wrong here.
I played the first few levels at SOF level until it became a bit unplayable at the Vergara's mansion area.:spank: After that I changed to Amateur and started again from the beginning to try it and ended up playing it all the way to the end in that mode. So I have saved games played at that level of difficulty all the way to the end.
The saved games are on my PC at home (I'm at work at the moment :D) but if they are any good to you I can mail you the level you need.
no you don't understand,my computer was completely wiped out. no files remaining, had to reinstall windows xp and soldier of fortune. ALL my files were totaly destroyed....no save file....
no m8...what I wuz saying was..... all my saved game files are saved at "Amateur" level so if you use them, AND if you were playing (before your system wipe out) at a level of difficulty higher than that you may have to "downgrade" to that level to continue with them.
...jus' trying to help...
I understand what you mean now, i was playing the game on the easiest skill setting so if you could, please send me your files so i don't have to play the entire game over again.

For your protection, do not send files to anyone. This is how CD Keys are stolen.
Just srart the game on whatever difficulty level you were on and then type the map name where you left off. This is much simpler.
Autopilot..... a bit of a sweeping statement "don't send files to anyone..etc" While I thank you for trying to help I was a bit dubious about this...
As I had never heard of this idea..ie CD keys being embedded in the code of a game save file, but being the ever paranoid surfer I phoned a friend of mine in the US who is a coder (as i am not and he is a pretty good one) and asked his advice. He also said it was a new one on him but if I transferred the file he would look at it to see if there was any evidence of the key being in there. He phoned me back to say that he couldn't find any problem in sending game saves as he couldn't see anything in there which resembled a CD key (I told him the format of the key so he would have an idea what he was looking for) He also said that in his opinion any software house that commited that sort of sin should be shot with sh** from a gr8 big gun and would deserve to lose customers if it became common knowledge.
Do you have any evidence for what you said and if so can you point me at the place in the save file where it shows so that I can tell my pal where and what he missed?
Unless you deemed me stupid enough to zip my whole SOF2 installation and send that....;) I do hope not.
Thank you again for your consideration of my personal wellbeing and protection.

Sorry for the unexplained "sweeping" statement. I was about to sign off and thought I would just shout out a warning in the last few minutes that I had.
Gamers are always being conned by warez-monkeys to send them files. They start off asking for innocent things, but once they got you hooked they keep asking for more and the next thing you know you've given them something you shouldn't have and didn't even realize it.
bdoggxl's post is a "classic" example. It has "suspicion" written all over it and I seriously doubt it's legit. It's his first post on the forum, the poor guy got a virus, lost everything... blah, blah, blah then lays a guilt trip on you and puts a curse on those who refuse to send files to people who ask for them. When you asked what difficulty he was using, he completely ignored the question until you insisted. He then expected you to figure out which level to send him (he just said "after the Hospital") Do you know what file to send him? I can almost assure you whateveer you sent would be wrong and he would need "more" files to help him get back going.
As I explained to him (actually for your benefit) it would be much easier for him to just enter the map name in the console and he's all set. Less time than it takes to load this message board, let alone type his plea, wait for a response, type another, wait... see what I mean?
Anyway, you seem to be a net savvy guy and probably would have caught-on.
