Hi, i need a miracle in this. First of all, i got a 56K connection. I always look for the servers with the lowest ping possible but, when the action comes bang!!... the lag appears and im the Neo in Sof2... evading all bullets. I know theres not much to do with a 56k connection, but ive heard about rates, snaps, and other stuff related with the sof2 console and other tricks like changing some registry values to get the most of the network. Please help me, i really like to play sof2 but, the lag is not good for me neither for the other players. :(

30 FPS and no change :( . i installed windows only days ago, and before that i was playing sof2 with a 180-220 ping... that was nice for me. was playable. but after formating my hd and installing windows the lowest ping i get now is 300-350 with 500ms peaks... thats really bad. if it helps a little my slow pc is a Athlon 1 GHz, 384RAM, Ati Radeon 9000 128MB

I would try to change your rate. Drop your console down and type in /rate and hit enter to see where your default is. I believe it should be 2500. Then type in your console /rate 7000. Change it up a bit from like 3500 up to around 9000 and watch your ping each time you change it to see where the most change occures.

Also type in console /snaps and hit enter to see what your default is. I think that usually is 20. Bring that up around 30,40. See if that puts a dent in it.

And check your network settings. Make sure your rate is adjusted to your provider like dsl, cable, modem etc. I notice sometimes when I'm connecting to the servers it will change itself. I will be running on cable when I have DSL. And check your scalability option, you can change your detail testures to NO unlless you wanna see every crack in the wall LOL:lol:
