Ok, here are some questions i have: 1) I have a ship with no torpedoes, only phasers (two groups) and disruptors. I would like the main group of phasers to fire on a regular mouse click (the usual button for phasers) and the second group to fire with the button normally used to fire torps. (so i have full firing control from my mouse, and i can have the two groups firing on my seperate commands). Can this be done?
2) My second group, mentioned above, is the main guns, as in one large burst from them, drains all the reserves, leaving the ship without power for a couple secs. how would i set them up to drain the power down to or near zero when firing one shot?
3) is it possible to create the beam melding effect. what i mean is have a few start points for the beam, from seperate emiters in one arch, then have them join together at a designated point and fire straight off. basically like the death stars main gun, how is starts off being four or five seperate beams, then joins in space to fire straight at it's target. Is this possible.
if anyone as any ideas on any of these subjects, that would be the largest help!!
1) using the SDk you can set the firing groups so the first set you can use to fire with the phaser command. the second set you can use it by tying it into the torpedo launching one. I don't remeber the nubers. but there are only five so it shouldn't be to hard. 2)I don't get what you're trying to say. do you want them to drain all the power from the ship or you don't? 3) I'm not sure that you can do it but it would require a hell load of modding. The hp for firing coulb be placed out from the ship but i'm not sure how to get other emmiters to fire at it.
for number 2: yes. i want all the power to be drained from the ship, everything. I want these guns to take every last bit of energy there is. the ship should be totally vulnerable (basically crippled) for atleast a couple seconds, then the power could return and start building up from scratch.
