My computer isnt old, but isnt new either,

P4 3.0 Abit IC7 6800GT (400/1100) (66.81 drivers) 1 gb PC3200 Audigy2 Viewsonic P225fb 21┬┤┬┤

I recenlty ugraded from a 5900ultra, and didnt see much difference, i usally play 1600x1200 no AA or AS, I always unlock my fps to 500, and have Vsync off, I do play everything on high, but still I thought a new card would take this game by storm, im not unhappy with the card as with Doom3 and HL2 i get decent frame rates.

But in sof2 my frames only reach 500 in empty servers, but in crowded 24+ servers, my frames drop to 50s when there is heavy action. Do you guys think this is normal, or maybe another 6800 owner can tell me if he gets similar performace.

Thanks, Abula

500 fps is stupid... try to lock it at your monitor refreshrate and you probably will have better results (even with my "old" ATI 9800 pro i get beter results).

If you were blind tested bettween 80 fps and 500 fps you probably would not tell the difference.

Check your \com_hunkmegs setting is set to 128 or above just to be sure.

Cap it at 125. 500 is ridiculous.

Have you re-installed SoF2 since you upgraded your grafix card ??

The game needs to setup and recognise the new card.. and yes what the others said also

you don't have to just need to Pull out the sof2mp.cfg and then restart the game. it will restore the cfg recognising the new card and settings. i went through this with clan member who got a new mobo cpu and pciexpress... he tried everything up to that point, wasn't getting more that 60 fps... and i have my card capped at 200... Violent is right, if you were tested, you couldn't tell the difference between 80 and 500 less you have the FPS being drawn
