So, the game wasn't what most people expected. Too bad. However, this game did something that wasn't that bad at all; It brought lots of modders out of retirement. They say "if Activision gives you lemons, make lemonade", or something like that. Why can't we all make more stuff for the game we like instead of being mad at the new one? Let's channel all that energy into making SOF2 a better game. Some people may say it's too old, but look at Doom, Quake, Quake II and Duke Nukem 3D. People have created mods to enhance the way they look and play. Look at the Doomsday engine. It added a crosshair, jumping, dynamic lighting and even 3D models to doom. Tenebrae makes Quake look like Doom3's lovechild by adding stencil shadows and dynamic lights. And don't forget about Quake2Max and the Duke Nukem High Resolution Pack, JFDuke3D and EDuke32. Those are ancient games, but they are so cool people still play them and still create new content for them. Why can't we do the same for our SOF2? Maybe this belongs in the Rants And Raves forum, but I think people here need to see it first. Thanks.
well my friend in order to do that you need the source code, eduke doomsday, tenebrae all of them are build up from the source code, and i doubt they are willing to release it.
actualy Eric i do belive the source for sof2 has been released.;)
Why not mod for SoF: Payback instead, and make it a good game? I get your point, though.
yeah might aswell fix up all the stuff in paback before gamers give up on it...
