where can i get custom maps and where do i install them to.i have an italy map but when i join multiplayer it auto server down loads it?

i got the same problem. Once i downloaded many maps, but i couldn't get them started. What have i done wrong. I put the map in my base folder. I hope that someone can help me out. :uhoh: :confused:

The maps go in the base folder make sure they are unzipped so all thats in there is the .pk3 file.....no reason they should not work.. check the map list in create a server to see if they r there

Yeah the *.pk3 go into your base folder if they don't end in pk3 then they won't work if they are *.bsp thats another story you have to hit the "~" key and type map whatever the name of the map is then hit enter.

if it is SOF1 the file ends in "PAK" but in SOF2 its "PK3" and it seems that after some point in SOF1 the game has problems with a large amount of custom maps at least it did with me. so I removed some of the custom "pak" files and was fine. But only do that if you know what you are doing,as you can destroy your SOF install, and then you would need to reinstall the whole game.

For SOF1, it's a PAK then it goes to the BASE-directory... but when it's a BSP then it goes to the BASE/MAPS/DM-directory !!

For SOF2, nearly same sh*t (PAK=PK3, and maps got BASE/MAPS)
