What does every one think about a MOD based in the 25th Century. It might not be the most original idea but there are very few (if any) ones out there. I don't have alot of MODing experiance but I've created my own MODs in the past. I would realy apperetiate alot of feed back and/or help in creating this MOD. If you would like to help I need most help in the weapons, game ballance, any model creation/texture creation (if needed), and testing departments. More information will be provided as I send it in. Here is a preposed starship list. Class Key: Fighters: Very fast small one man shuttles. Pounding weapons but extreamly weak shields & armour. Heavy Fighters: Same as a Fighter but has heavier shields and armour. Scouts: Quick small 5 man space ships. Minimal weaponry, shields, and armour. Destroyer: Destroyers are fast highly manuverable spaceships. Armed with Medium stringth weapons and light shields and armour. Assault: Designed for quickly taking down and sezing large targets. Armed with Medium stringth, fast weapons and light shields and medium armour. Artillery: Slow yet powerful ships for taking out targets from a distance. Armed with long-range artilary torpedos and light close range beam weapons. Medium shields and light armour. Minelayer: Fed. and Card.s only. Builds and lays minefields quickly and efficiantly. No weapons. Heavy shields and light armour. Gunboat: Klingons and Romulans only. Slow heavly armed weapon platforms. Heavy weapons and Light shields and armour. Frigate: Med-Speed starships designed for fleet protection. Armed with 4 short ranged beam weapons and light shields and armour. Light Cruiser: Fast, manuverable, and resourcefull ships. Form the early backbone of the fleet. Armed with Mid-stringth weapons, mid-stringth shields, and light armour. Heavy Cruiser: Mid-speed ships that form the backbone of any fleet. Armed with Mid-stringth weapons, mid-stringth shields, and medium armour. Battlecruisers: Powerful ships for forming the frount lines of the fleet. Armed with Heavy weapons, medium shileds, and medium armour. Science: Slow ships outfitted with experamental weapons for the good of science. Armed with slow Heavy weapons, Heavy shields, and weak armour. Battleships: The flagships of space. Armed with Heavy weapons, Heavy shields and mid-stringth armour. Heavy Battleships: Powerfull ships that plow through anything they come across. Heavy weapons, Heavy shields, and Heavy armour are equiped upon this ship. Special: Don't know if "Super Ships" should be used but my idea for the model is here if it is wanted. The Federation, Romulans?, and Borg all have dreadnaughts; equiped with Extra-heavy weapons, heavy Shields, and heavy armour. The Klingons, Romulans?, and Cardasians have "Doomsday Weapons"; equiped with Doomsday weapons and weak shields and armour. Remember this is just my ideas. Is is a MOD that I would like the community to take place in creating; even if it is just the smallest piece of your thought, let me know. I forgot to mention earlyer that I CANNOT make AI files. I think you would get a better responce if you your idea was something new, iam sorry to say this but seems a little "tired" as a possible project, what people are after now is somthing new (and "exciting"), all you have to do is look at the sponsored MOD's and see the standards that are now being set by the community. Why not (and you can use some of the idea you have above as a framework) do a mirror universe MOD and charter the fall of the Empire and the rise of the Alliance (just a thought) Iam sorry to seem so negative, because you got the biggest MODding skill sorted already ......enthusiasm.

It is an interesting concept, but to make it seem realistic there would have to be completely new models for all races to make people interested. Why not do an Enterprise-J era, not there are ships out there for that era though very few and no one to my knowledge no one has attempted to do it.

Though I suggest you start small like doing only 3 or 4 races to start with and them release patches for any bugs found along with any additional patches you wish to add. ;)

That has been in progress for a few years now, I am a member of the said project and one of three creators of the Microverse Team. The team started out at AFC but moved over to my site a year ago.

If you want to change it to 26th century, then you can use my 26th century fed fleet. I only released the Monarch (all 3) but I have many others sitting in storage ;)

You could just release them anyhow :D I would like to see something more on this mod though.

paulhanselluk Iam sorry to seem so negative, because you got the biggest MODding skill sorted already ......enthusiasm.
That's ok that you are negative, I'll need the criticizm. As for the enthusiasm... well you can tell I let that get in the way (I got so tied up in getting this idea out there I forgot abouth the muli-posting rule :p ).

The 26th Century MOD is a LOT more appealing. I wanted to do one but there was such a lack of ships it seemed a little imposible. Greathor, if you could get me the ships that would be great. I loved your Monarch-class so I tried to cram one into this mod (even though it didn't realy fit! ). Thanks for this great idea!
As do I Joel, I would like to see more. Originaly this MOD was just to be a personal MOD, composed of my favorate ships and adding some unusual aspects of gameplay. I havn't been too sugsessful on the unusual aspect part but I got a little carried away with the ship part. There should only be about 10-12 ships per race (excluding non-combat). If we go with the 26th century idea there will have to be less ships. Thanks everybody for your ideas and critisizm. Keep sending them in. If you want to help please let me know. I'm not very experianced in the MODing area so I would appretiate EVERY bit of help.

I think that, considering this will be your first mod, you should start with something a little less ambitious than a full-fledged total conversion. Put together a couple ships first from scratch. Get people's attention. Even the boss modders like Greathor and Major Payne had to start small with single-ship mods. Plus, if you put too much of a rush on yourself to meet the high expectations you've set for yourself, you'll just end up doing all of what's been done before. Maybe start small, make a name for yourself with a few fancy new ships.... then get down to the heavy stuff. I've seen too many ambitious "This is my mod and it's going to be the BEST ever!" threads started here that never made it past the first completed starship-- cancelled because it was too heavy a concept to be done well by one person unless they went insane or spent multiple years doing it....

Sure thing, i'll just need a bit of time editing hp's and such and i'll ship them off. Do you want them with black textures like monarch refit or the bluish one like the standard monarch?

I've seen a lot of MODs that seem great, but only fall right out of the sky. I would create ships and send them in but I can't figure out how. I've got all the touturials but I cant seem to convert them into .SOD files:confused: . I should send in some smaller works though. I have a lot of ideas, just getting them out there. I'll start with the blue ones. I don't think I'll need the black ones but if I do I let you know. Take as long as you need to.
