Hello all, thunderfoot emailed me not too long ago and offered his help in adding lightmaps to some models I have.

These models which I started in early 2008 and didn't get back to till early this year when I got my old computer back up and running are my own versions of a revised/re-imagined TOS, that or could be considered X-Era designs for those that follow Starfleet Battles.

Well I could never get the lightmaps to work correctly they turned out grainy and well to use a describitive term they were yuck and look rather horrid. If thunderfoot and I can get them fixed (along with thunderfoots shading adjustments) I am considering turning this bunch of some 12 ships and one station into a sort of mini modification that will see three full races come to life for Armada 2.

These races will namely be the Federation, Terran Empire and Galactic Order (from Star Trek Of Gods and Men fan film).

Now I am interested in seeing who would be interested in this and secondly who would be interested in helping out in this endeavour. I don't need modellers or texture makers as I have that sort myself, what I will need is someone who can code, odfs, balancing, weapons and do all the teadious stuff that makes me loose interest in a project and take a break from it.

This project is meant to be small, nothing to compare against Yesteryears or even Clash of Empires hence there are only three races and only the Federation and two of her counterparts. I have most of the ship models and all I would really need to do is make some kitbashes and do the stations.

So please post in the poll and vote your comments and any offers for help.

Wow, whose a busy boy then? this sounds like a good idea - I looked at alot of the starfleet battles stuff when I was planning Star Trek Beginnings - I liked them! It will be awesome to have some more TOS content in the community - after all, it is the beginning, the spring from which all of this trek stuff sprang (if you get my meaning) I would love to help you out - but Im kind like you - I love making the models look good, but when it comes to the coding Im not so hot... So I vote yes :-) @ Intrepid781; As far as I know, Yesteryears was completed - and I think its available for d/l at MSFC? (correct me someone if Im wrong?)

Yeah I'm a busy boy, but it keeps me occupied and busy during the days I am at home and looking for work while my Fiance is away working in Sydney (some 3 hours away by train) before I go and pick the kids up.

Well most of my models are in fact kitbashes from my Constitution class so they take much less time to make when compared to the Conny that I built from scratch.

Well Dino I have only done Federation style ships so many one day down the road after we get our other projects out of the way we could combine efforts and add some Klingon and Romulan forces to the modification. You never know. :)

I am correcting you and answering Intrepid at the same time, kill two birds with one stone aye. ;)

Yesteryears is still in production and a exclusive MSFC modification hence why there are no thread or updates here, not fair on those who only visit here.

Syf has had a rough time recently as I and my fiance have as well and we are taking a small break from Yesteryears. YY is like our love child and is a major modification and something we are proud of and want to be something special (when compared to this proposal and COE) so we are taking more time with it, plus we have to design 4 totally new races for it (the Gorn, Kzinti and two others we have yet to publicly disclosed).

Yeah I've been out of work for sometime now, it's the economy as many companies are closing and many people are loosing their jobs and many businesses are simply not hiring so I am stuck looking for work and jumping through the government hoops for a tiny pay, but it's better than not getting paid at all.

But things will pick up, they always do and I am sure we both will have work in the forseeable future. :nodding:

Yeah I look forward to a collaboration, I have gotten several offers of help over at MSFC, which is good so no doubt this mod is a go. Two ODFers and one modeller than is also a staff member and who I have worked with more than once before so I know the quality of his work.

On that note an update for the new mod with no name.

Today I started work on my first TOS ship in quite sometime, using parts from my Constitution class I got the Bonaventure class completed 90% mesh wise and about the same texturing wise.

This ship was recently down by ScifiFan and released on A2Files and the design was featured in the 2006 Ships of the Line Calander. I came up with a backstory for this ship to and it is as follows:

Launched in 2251, the Bonaventure class was a tribute to the first starship named Enterprise (UES Enterprise NX-01) and her commanding officer Jonathan Archer and was launched on the exact same day as Archer's historic vessel. The Bonaventure encorporates many simularities as the Enterprise (or NX as it is sometimes known as) class but is larger and much more technologically advanced, and was state of the art when it was launched. There was already an Enterprise (the USS Enterprise NCC-1701) in service and so the class was named after the Neptune class UES Bonaventure the first ship that Captain/Admiral/President Jonathan Archer served onboard.

And now for some nice pretty images of the WIP mesh, enjoy and feedback always appreicated. ;)

Well this is the last update for sometime, here are the two newest and most recent vessels I've made.

I present you the completed (for the most part) Bonaventure and Constellation classes in re-imagined (my version) style. :)

Both are a little high of pollies for TOS ships, the Bonaventure is 1858 and the Constellation is 2296 but people don't seem to have an issue with high poly models so it shall do. ;)

SciFiFan;4913186I LOVE that Bonaventure. I must say that yours out does mine by lightyears.

I would personally suggest yours over mine as its a lot less on the pollies, as mine is over 1800 pollies and I think yours is like 1000. Also yours has a lot more talent as you made the textures yourself didn't you? I did not, I used textures from a SFC model with permission.

All I can say is keep at it, I'll help you where I can just PM me if you need some assistance and if I can help I will. ;)
