The original ODFs for A1 are located in an encrypted file (filename assets.zfs), so you'll need to decompile the entire file so that the ODFs are correct. Other than downloading them there is no other viable way to get hold of them. I'm not entirely sure why your against downloading them though. When you edit any they need to be placed in the ADDON folder.

You have to put those files in the 'addon' folder, IIRC.

Probably the easiest way to get them is to download them, like the Major said. Here is the link on A2files.com http://armada2.filefront.com/file/Armada_ODF_Files;14124 Enjoy.

Heheh, the BBOM (Big Book of Modding) is downloaded at armada2files, type it in in the search and you'll find it. However, I am unclear as to your second problem.

Meastro, As this appears to be your first time modding and since you are having problems, why don't you tell us exactly what you have down (step by step) and I am sure someone here can help you resolve your problem.

Ok this is the simplest thing i did (i think): i wanted to have the nebula a faster phaser, so i changed that name: // Phaser weapon1 = "fc1phaso" weaponHardpoints1 = "hp17" "hp18" "hp19" "hp20" "hp21" "hp22" "hp23" "hp24" "hp25" "hp26" but, i added one ship called "serpent class" i did everything that was needed, edit the fyard.odf the techtrees etc. but i think the fault is in the techtree (remember: this is A1) i added this underneath the gtempor.odf: fserp.odf 0 (in the freetech and in the fulltech) and i added this fserp.odf 1 fyard.odf underneath the: fdestroy.odf 1 fyard.odf i don't know what i did wrong. this is what i had to do to install it correctly (bby the readme) Meastro
