Hi, I need some advice, I am trying to alter the odf for the csuper so that it can search and destroy, without the need for me to select its target, I have got it to go out and search for targets, but it doesn't impact the target to activate its special weapon, any help will be very welcome, Thanks

This missile defaults to green alert to prevent it from accidentally taking out your base as splash damage when it goes off. Not sure as I haven't seen this in action for a while but check the .ODF on this one for code that sets it to condition green. Check any '#include' entries, too.

Yeah your right kid, found this at the bottom of that ships ODF file.... // we want this ship to always be in green alert and low movement autonomy -- don't want them running off and doing stuff defaultGreenAlert = 1 ..I think setting this to 0(zero)or removing it altogether should have that sucker going suicidal. ;)

One of my devious little tricks from my days playing online was taking out somebodies base with their own dreadnought by decloaking a scout directly in front of it after they'd built it and pumping a shot into it. The dreadnought returns fire and blows the scout up before the pulses from the starbase can reach the scout.

If the ship did actually default to green alert then the dreadnought should have impassively ignored the scout instead of blowing it's base up for me. As I say, I know that works. I did that quite a few times. (and yeah, i'm not doubting that is what the ODF says and should do, i'm just mystified as to how it could do this and allow me to do what I did above!)

Might have been that the player set the base to build it at a higher alert level.

Did I mention that you usually have to capture a cloakable scout to do that?

People don't think that they need to research a tachyon detection grid if they are playing against the federation or borg because you can't build cloakable ships. I've no idea why they don't consider that you usually have their cloakable scout two minutes into the game, but hey.

All you need to do is put everything on yellow alert and then research the tachyon grid. Seeing as cloaking drops shields, well. Shall we just say that it makes it quite easy to beam onboard. =p

It's ok though, i'm not interested in taking over the world. I'd have to spend all day outwitting people planning on deposing me and I don't think it's worth the effort. :uhm:

I'll admit I've taken that attitude even just playing against the AI a few times, so I'm not surprised others do as well, even when playing some one with an actual brain. And really, if you did take over the world, you'd just have to round up the malcontents and have them shot before they can think about deposing you. send a message to any others considering it lol. Still, it makes you no less of an evil mastermind lol.:lulz:
