Ok so i was cleaning out my desktop and i found a model i'd done *like the only one ive made from scratch* Of the anti-replicator asgard satellite but i never finished it because i couldnt make the most basic of textures...Is there anyone willing to help out? I can do everything else, I will even take a wack at applying them. I just need them to apply in the first place... *dam it it wont let me upload a photo of the model tho help there too?*

Could we see what model looks like?

If it's mostly flat surfaces it'd be super easy to UV and texture....

Goodness gracious, what a horrible model.

Why so many different colors? And why the heck is it so smoothed out, all the detail is gone?

The colors are there so i could keep track off all the different groups, as i didnt alot of coping the same group and rotating to it was the same all around i'd say based on wot few photos there are of it its pretty dam close, *but any criticism is fine but this is my very first model ive done from scratch* I hoped detail could come threw in the textures, bare in mind the satelte is about the size of a person...

If there aren't any moving parts, make it all one group, one model.

If it rotates or something like that, have the top be one model and the bottom another model.

This simplifies things greatly.

But sure if the texture was done really good it could make this low-poly model "pop" out. If you just UV map it really fast and slap on some grey with some scratches or something like that it's not going to look all that great. The key with low poly models [like this one here] is the texture. The better the texture, the less you realize the model isn't so hot.

Well i'd love to just uv map it really fast and slap on some grey scratches...(clearly have no idea what i just said there) but i cant make them to begin with, and it has a more of a bluish ting to it. and how low is low polly? Because this at last looks was around: 3264...

Hey B3ta! Its really good to see ppl that are willing to try and learn modeling - every one wants new models in game, but hardly anyone wants to take the time to learn! Right; firstly, it is not a "horrible model" - and I think it was pretty counter productive to say so - even if it does look like a circus clown's bar stool - it just needs some work ;) Comments like that will only discourage, and thats not cool. Ok, secondly, yes, for Armada2; 3264 polys is way too high for such a small satelite. Im guessing in game it will be a defensive turret of some kind? Then you should be looking at between 700 - 800 polys (as you will build quite a few). This is easier than it sounds - 800 polys is plenty to work with, especially if you put the majority of the detailing into the texture. For examlpe, the Seraph in my sig below is only around 800 polys. What modeling program do you use it looks to be MS3d? If it is, can you zip the model file, post it here (or send me a PM with it attached) and I can take a look for you?
