Since this is my first texture, please feel free to say anything that you hate about it, so I can learn. I don't care if you are a professional modeler/texturer ect.

I did this in blender, and their smooth effect dosent work too good. But this is supossed to be one of the Pillars that are seen on the asgard Oneill class ship. I know it looks more like a metal than a chrome, but it's all I could come up with. If anything, it could be used as a human metal texture.

Also, I did this using UV Mapping. The model itself is 52 Faces (I am pretty sure that is the same as the poly count) Any constructive critisim is welcome, and appreciated.

now that i do like :) its a very interesting metal texture, could be used in places on ships where you want more detail, or to make bits stand out.

Liking it, 10x better than anything i could put together. Was thinking the other day we could do with more ships/textures that looked abit more damaged.

Thanks for the feedback. I might take my chances at making a new asgard ship, but untill I get Milkshape, I wont beable to do anything with it. I like modeling in blender a lot better than milkshape because it just seems easier. Edit: I finnished the basic shape of the ship. I decided to call it The Samantha Carter, since there is a jackson, and oneill, though the asgard could use a carter. I know only the pillars are textured right now, but that will come when I get this ship done.

It looks good so far, but very similar to the o'neill. What about a catamaran kind of configuration. Also, O'neill was a sort of command ship to begin with, as O'nell was The daniel jackso was a history/science ship when first seen, as is jackson. Carter is a more militar science, so a special weapon ship... Just a thought :)

That was what I was going to do, also it does look similar to the oneill but there are some differences, the pillars are backwards, the wings are not the same (tried not to be the same) but thats about it. I guess I should change the head to look less like the oneill. Edit: And here is the changed head. I thought I could mix it with the oneill and the daniel jackson. Any comments on it. I also set certain sections on the ship to smooth to make it blend better, not sure if it looks good or not.

Looking very good. Only thing I'd change is the wing/fin section's too big in relation to the rest of the craft. Make 'em smaller, maybe? And also make the wings a little swept back, and tapered, like a conventional fighter jet.

Qapla

I will make the pillars smaller, But I am pretty happy with the wings the way they are. The only thing I don't like right now is the textures I have on it now. Dont have time to post a new image sorry.

That's cool, but the last pic's textures were REALLY good. Having trouble making more?

Well the only thing textured on the last one is the pillars, everything is the standerd. Blender adds in the shine effect for its smooth areas, somthing that milkshape im sure does not do. Im going to have to modify it in the txture probably.
