Hi. I'm new to this modding business, and I was wondering how to convert BC models to Armada. I downloaded milkshape, but I don't know where to go from there. Can anyone help?

Sure. Download the model of choice. Then, while in ms3d, select “import’ and go down to NIF (bridge commander). If there isn’t an option, go to ms3d homepage and download the right plug-in. From there, add the hp’s and export as an SOD 9armada 2). Make sure though that the poly count isn’t ridiculously high though, otherwise it won’t run well in game. Need more, ask away, we’re here to help :)

Thanks for the offer. 1) Could you tell me what version of milkshape to get? I have the 1.7.10 version. 2) How many hardpoints are good for an A2 model? 3) On the same token, what's the polycount number that is in reasonable amount? Again, thanks for your help!

1.7.10 is good, its the newest one and I use it. That can range from 1 hp on fighters to as many as you want on larger ships. There is a tutorial on how to do that floating around. As for size, depends on the computer, but I would stick to 2000-2500 on large ships, while be about 800-1500 on regular ships.

Are you sure I have the latest version, cuz neither BC nor .nif is one of the choices for imports or exports.

Since I use the unregistered product, could I keep re-downloading the program everytime it expires?

Yet another question. :) Do I need to zip the files somewhere once I download them? I'm not quite sure how to install the plug-ins. Okay, nevermind my previous questions. 1) Could I keep re-downloading milkshape cuz my unregistered product expires soon. :( 2) I'm a little daunted when I opened the .nif file. How do I add hardpoints and where? 3) What do .py files do? Another question: For some reason, I can't import SOD files. The program says, "Can open only stock ships."

Thats because the importer will only allow you to import stock models. You can't import 3rd party sod files. Its to stop people steeling other peoples hard work.
