Hello all Gamers,
I've been having a problem(more than once before) with making & logging newly made maps. Here's the problem: I'm just starting up again on some basic 'map editing' skills and I got one that circa around the 'Dominion War' battle scenes from DS9 eps. This map has DS9 and a few plants as well the wormhole. Anyway, the map looks good for a 'beginner' like me and I was able to play on it. Then, as soon the battle is over and I get "You are Victorious"message, it doesn't go to the Admiral's Logs page - [B]it just CRASHES right there! What is preventing that to view the logs and save them??? What must I do to find out and fix this problem? Please any assistance in this would be GREATFULLY appreciated.
i had a similar problem. it was caused by a mislabeled odf file. when i typed in the ship class (for scoring purposes in some odf files) i typed in 'battle' rather than 'battleship'. this is how it should be:
//This is for stat accumulation shipclass = "battleship"
this is one cause of this problem. the other is mistyping the race name that uses the ship such as 'federatin' instead of 'federation'. example of how it should be:
//Race which can build ship & starting race of ship race = "federation"
how these errors could occur and how to find them is beyond me. (i found my errors just by checking files i had modded) i hope this helps.
i had the same problem with my niagara class, make sure you havent used capital letters in the class label or race name
Hey guys - thanks for the help. Somehow it's still doing the crashes, but I thinking it could be a faulty planet-file(s) or something of that fact. I'm starting to make it again with some more simple things in and see then. I rechecked DS9 file and I made it a derelict station and some other ships too for this map. Maybe if you may like to see my map, I can send it to anyone for a better look at it. Email me at: email@example.com Again thanks for the tips - tell me more if something comes up?
