Hello all. Now it might come as a shock to some but for others who remember I had actually made plans for this sequel to BIVR to be started many months before this post. Unfortunately, having four mods on the go at one time can produce the problem of "which do I continue with??". This problem has plagued me for a while so I decided to continue with this one. Now for those that haven't visited AFC I did have a sub forum there but after months of me not doing any work on the mod I decided to delete the sub forum. Things have changed now though and whilst I won't be placing a new sub forum at AFC yet, I will start to post updates on a semi-regular basis. So to begin with. The story behind this is simply because after actually trying the stock single player campaign I wasn't overly happy with having to build 20 of the same class so this more of a single player/multiplayer upgrade to increase some sort of playability with regards to increasing the amount of ship classes available. Think of this as a cut down version of BIVR but with changes to single player campaign maps. As such this is the basic selection of stock ships (with a few additions) which I've decided on the Federation side:
- Sovereign, Galaxy (non seperating), Akira, Steamrunner (different physics), Defiant, Sabre, Nebula and Intrepid
All the above are replaced with BIVR versions of the same ship class so there is no difference except for ODF changes with regards to resource costs.
The Courageous Class heavy destroyer is being used as this ships replacement.
The Norway Class will replace this.
There will be 4-6 additional ship classes but that'll be it. The stations won't change to much but there will be 2 Ferderation construction vessels:
The first will be able to construct the following:
- Starbase, Outpost, 2 shipyards, Mining Facility, Orbital Extractor, 3 Research facilities, Trading station
The second will be able to construct the following:
- 2 sensor turrets: Standard and Midas array - 3 Torpedo turrets: Photon, Quantum and Artillery - 2 Phaser turrets: Standard Phaser and Pulse
Now bare in mind that there won't be much in the way of new unit models that haven't been included with BIVR and this is where most of the models will be extracted from. The reason for this is simply that they are already completed and easily added to the game.
Anyway, I understand that many will probably think that this sounds quite boring and in some ways it probably will, but this is how I see the game.

sounds like a ghost 2.0 to me. and that mod is still pretty darn popular. will you rewrite the fed campaign as well or just change ships and stations?
BIVR was a lot of fun. I enjoyed it a great deal. I doubt this will be boring. Challenging, yes. But not boring.
