Did anyone ever find a way to give the borg no shields and prevent the AI from automatically transporting crew to borg ships/stations?
Would there be a way for the borg to not use shields but maybe make some other paramater have to be met by the AI in order for them to transport to a borg vessel? Maybe use all the paramaters to take away the shields but leave the shield generator hp's, then set the condition that the shield generators must be destroyed in order to transport?
I'm also toying with making the borg race "canbecommandeered = 0" like 8472. I mean, when did we ever see anyone take over a borg ship. (I'm trying to balance my game while not using 10000 crew for borg vessels) It's one thing for the races to capture an enemy ship and with some stretch of the imagination operate it, but how would anyone know how to operate a borg vessel since they're not linked in to the collective?
Yes, both of these things are possible in Fleet Ops: in relation to the second concept (preventing non-Borg from transporting to Borg) that's done with current hull health.
In Stock you could however give every Borg unit 1 shield HP which regenerates extremely quickly, with the shield down mechanic regenerating very quickly as well.
I changed all borg to have sheildHealth and curShields = 0 with 0 recharge rate, I changed shieldhitpoints to 0 and deleted the line for shieldgeneratorhardpoints and got the effect I wanted with no shield hit being displayed and crew taking damage. I changed all the weapon ordinance files to have shieldcrewmodifier to 0 for all as well. I need to do some adjusments in the hullcrewmodifier for borg to get a good die off number.
I also made the borg.odf say canBeCommandeered =0 so you can't transport aboard their stuff but the only problem is you can't even transport your own crew to your own ship if the crew dies off but the hull is intact. Why would that commandeer line block you from putting crew on your own ship?
