Hello, does anyone know how to get borg textures working in-game? i've made some for ds9 and the scimitar, iam not planning to release them, i just thort they wud look more cannon with borg textures. Anyway, iave made the textures, they look ok in paint shop, and iave named them ds9b_1, ds9b_2 and scimitar_B. I dont know what iam dowing wrong because when i assimilate the scimitar the new textures are not applied, it looks the same as it always did :mad: Same goes for ds9, i tried renaming the textures to something like ds9_B_1 & 2 but that didant work, then i tried ds9_1_B and ds9_2_B, that didant work either! can some one PLEASE tell me what iam doing wrong!:help: Thanks, The Assimilator.

For DS9 the textures should be named ds9_1_b.tga & ds9_2_b.tga (make sure they are .tga files) - otherwise they wont work! as for the Scimitar, i would have thought that would be correct - Scimitar_b.tga - that should work! As i said, make sure they are .tga files and that you have put them into the RGB folder (within the textures folder) - if that doesn't work then i don't know whats wrong, you don't need to change any options or anything, as far as i am aware its a simple case of adding '_b' on the end of a filename to make it borg!

From studying the stock ships, I think you will have to add a borg node to the model in milkshape or 3ds max. I could be wrong since I haven't tried to have make assimilation textures to anything.

well i try and change the file names and see what i get, but as far as the node thing goes, i CAN'T open the sod files with milkshape, for a few good reasons: 1. There are no Armada2 sod importers for milkshape, and i dont know enough about programing to make them, 2. thows types of plugins can only open STOCK models, these two models are NOT stock, there thrird party, which means that an importer wudn't work anyway (i THINK). I have Gmax, which can open 3dsmax files, but i dont have enuogh money (and probably never will) to buy a copy of 3dsmax, and milkshape wont export to Gmax. Anyway guys thanks for the advice, i will see what i can do. :) Oh, by the way Ash, i named the scimitar tga file scimitar_B, note the capital B, i think thats what did it, i dont know why activision made the borg textures for stations use upper case bs and the ships use lower case, it's so confusing! :confused:
