One Of Many

I've noticed a few people making ships for BSG and my question is this, is anyone going to make the FTLs (faster than light) effect for these mods? You could just copy how the Borg transwarp works and make a new Sod for it. The same could also be done for the Battle Fleet Gothic mod too.
Only race that technically uses FTL in the Warhammer 40k universe are the Necrons, as they use something called an inertia-less drive, or something like that. Thus allowing them to go as fast as they want - giving the effect of FTL. As far as I know for the Battlestar mod, they've got a buggy incomplete version of it. I'm not that far into the BFG mod to really say how I want ships to warp about the place, though I would imagine it would be something similar to generating an artificial wormhole (breaching the material-immaterial barrier) and ending up in their destination. But as I said, I don't really know what I will do.
I didn't make it!
I was dinking around with something like this the other night because I wanted to see if I could get ship movement closer to something like seen in SW or BSG. Namely, the near instantaneous jump to lightspeed and the similar slowing to sublight. It is a physics/movement issue, after all, lol. My initial efforts look really awful, but they seem to be headed in the right direction. StarFox is the other physics guy and he looks at things like this from a different angle than I do. He may have something already worked up and ready to use. Probably ought ask him via PM or email. Anyway, I'll keep tinkering with this when I am not working on ImpSPCam. If I get something promising, I'll release it here and set the permissions so anyone can use it in whatever they are making. I can't promise it will be any good or that it will be available anytime soon. But whatever I do, I'll share with the BSG team and Ragnar.

Hello: That would be awesome, Kel333 is making the FTL effect for the Battlestar Armada mod, he said he has something ready or almost ready, but I am sure he will be happy to know everything you want to share :) . I myself an using a basic modification of the Borg Transwarp special weapon (FTL sound and another sod) for my BSG ships, but I'm sure Kel has something far better in mind. Still, I am very interested and I look forward to see what you all will come up with :D .
Would love to see a video of a functional FTL jump like in BSG. Would be a breakthrough ;) To me, it'd compare to that of MVAM :p

can u get the ftl to have a chance to jump in a random (or at least slightly different place) than were you wanted it (would mainly benifit the bfg since warp travel in 40k is not 100% accurate)
That probably goes beyond the A2 engine as far as I know. Transwarp jumps are always exact (from the times I've used them and noticed anyway lol)
