Its been a long time since i've modded for armada 2, but i was thinking of getting back into it. But i woundering if someone could offer some help, just something to point me in the right direction. I was thinking about starting on the cardassian station from DS9, you know the one with the orbiting plasma turrets control by the asteriod base? Now my idea for doing it would be do model or find and then ask for the model, of the base. Then i would set several, 8ish hard point further out from the model of the base, and then use a pod system to build the turrets. Then i would make the turrets cannon, so basically try powerfull sheilds and very power weapons. That way when the station is destory it would cause the turrets to go with it. But making the station weakish. But besides the obvs probelms with modeling which ill work on. Does anyone know how to make the hard point rotate in Milkshape, so the turret would flip and follow the targets.
harpoints can not be animated.
also the power station had very strong shields, they just tricked he Orbital Weapons Platforms into shooting on itself.
Ok fair point :-P but thats the only way it could be balanced into the game i think. So any other suggestion to make the weapon pods move for a more canon effect?
hmm, maybe make the ships with no movement speed, restrict the weapons fire arc...
Ok, but if i did that would the weapons actually rotate or just stay looking one way?
I'm assuming here, but the entire Orvital weapons platform should swing to face the target.
Is what you suggested have that effect?
Should do, never tried it myself but I have seen turrets with engines hitpoints swing to face the target, no idea what it will do on a modular station though.
Ok i'm having a probelm wid the pods....every time i build one of the weapons. (Im running on a test model it just blows up. The hard point is slightly out from the station. But i can't see what's causing it any ideas?
