Is thir a way to change a sods texture file with another without importing it, and then exporting it back?

Rename the second to match the first but if they arn't identical then it won't do you any good as it would still need remaped.

ok, What I have is the Deamon/superstarash NV/NW/NX ships, and then Deamon/Michael Kelly ENTNX01, I want to build NX ships, and then have a hero NX01 with registry on the texture. both use the same texture name.

I'm not sure that's possible... not without extreme work in the sprites.... etc.... Unless you have separate textures, in which case you just need to add the registry to the appropriate area

With modelling there is no quick and easy way. It all takes time and effort otherwise everyone could model and texture from the start.

If you use a hex editor you can change the name of the .SOD allocations in the hexadecimal text. It's not easy to do-- if you have the textures and the .SODs, send them to me via e-mail (you can find my e-mail address in my forum profile) and I can get it to work for you.

Yea, 2 textures, one with the NX-01 Enterprise on the saucer, the donst have that.

I found it in the sod file the texture name, several times in the file, I backed it up, and changed it every time I saw it. I then opened the file in LithUnwrap, and it said it could not open it. Is it because I did it in note pad and not a hex editor?

Note pad won't work... half the time it comes out as ASCII.... your computer's interpretation of any complex code...

If their is a way to do it simply with out remapping the mesh, and just editing it through a hex editor, than that would be preferable. Starfleetkid, any pointers?
