How do I go about changing the texture files a model uses? The model in questions is using a stock texture as a base. I do not want to change that texture becuase it would also effect the stock model that uses the same texture. How can I change/modify the .sod file to use a differant .tga file? KaBoom

Oh come on! What the heck? I've been around here long enough to atleast have someone like MAP, SS or Tera help me out with this. I'm sure one of you guys know how this is done. Geez, help the little guys out.................... I miss the old days when Westworld would be on ICQ or MSN. :(

Import the sod into MilkShape (assuming its a stock sod) Once imported, look to the upper right side of your screen, there should be a tab labeled Materials, click on it. These are the textures that are being used by the sod. There is a tab right below the one labeled "Specular" it well say something like "Bcruise1" or "FbaseA" ext.. this is the tga file being used click on it to change it. Once you changed the tga you will need to export it to the sod format. You might want to save the model as "ms3d" as you won't be able edit it again. Hope that helps

are we on a ranking system, the longer you've been here defines whose help you are entitled to? nobody told me :P Anyway try a hex editor, make sure the new texture has as many letters in the name as the old one. Open the sod in hex and replace all instances of the old texture with the new then save, done.

You could just open the .tga with Photoshop and change it that way - depends on what sort of different looks you want for the ship or whatever..

I think he meant change which texture name the sod references.
