I'd like someone to talk me through some things. 1. Can you add more cargo ships that would act like the ferengi cargo ship so we could have some variety with our traders? 2. Can the same thing me done with the scavenger ship? 3. Can something be done so that we can have random bad guys that would turn up like a random event and come and mess up the place. (something akin to badguyprocess, like the ferengi traderprocess, by the way what and where is trader and scavengerprocess that the ferengi odf files refer to?) 4. is there anyway one race can build another races ships? thanks for any help

1) I'm not quite sure what you mean. 2) Same as Above 3) I think it can be possible, you mean they just "turn up" like the Ferengi Marauder, and attack? - I'd be surprised if this couldn't be done. 4) If you edit the build list of your Starbase etc to build an enemy Construction Ship. The alternative to #4 is to wait for a Construction Ship to build a Mining outpost by a Moon (and away from base) and then to capture it.

1: He wants more than just the ferengi trading ship, like a Vulcan trading ship and Bolian AS WELL AS the ferengi 2: Same thing as above, different models used Thats my guess, I dont know if thats possible though

Thank you Greathor that is what i meant, and thanks supastar for your answer to number 4. hate to be quite so demanding but is there anyway one race's starbase can build another race's construction ship with another race's crew in it. To clarify, I want a klingon constrution ship built with Kilingon crew from a federation crewed federation starbase. (don't think this can be done, but thanks in advance for any advice).

I think the answer to question 3 lies in the ai name of the zferscav. in the odf the line reads aiName = "SalvageProcess" . Unfortunatley i don't know if salvage process is a file or a line in a gui or what? so i cant re write it or make a different one. But there is the first strand of the solution.

Quick question: Why would you want a (Klingon) construction ship having (klingon) crew from a fed starbase? It wouldn't make much difference really...

Having more than one scavenger is more than possible, it has been done by me.

You need to copy the scavengers odf file and modify it, say have a Orion scavenger ship. You need to name it something new say zorion.sod and zorion.odf. Then you need to add it to the map list, the same as the ferengi. Then you need to open the map ediator and add the new ship next to the ferengi. The same needs to be done with the campaign maps if you want them in there too and the same can be done with the scavenger cargo ship.

All this will be in Parallels by the way.

well maybe the klingon thing would make little difference, but i had an idea for a mod that would add a civillian ship yard to each race but seems pretty dumb to have hundreds of different race's ships all populated with romulans/klingons/feds/tholians/ferengi so on... thank you majest, right then gonna be harder than I thought, still if worth doing is worth doing right. The next thing i need is some decent freighter sods, using dragon master's orion ships, however seems to be a distinct lack of vulcan/bolian/naussican/adorian so on cargo ships. ah well. one thing i can do is put some of the stock cargo ships on the sidelines. thanks again majest, you should publish this mod, sounds pretty cool, if not I will.

The Cargo and scavenger ships are located right at the side off the map, if you notice in game they come from the middle of each side when they appear. Right have hit a snag, have made serveral other race cargo ships with similar odf files to the ferengi cargo ship however they are not working, all i have changed is the names of the ships. any help? yep really stuck, have got an orion pirate stealing derelicts but cant get any cargo ships to work, has anyone ever done this before? They are off the map, just run around and you will find them, no every map is the same either so for example they may be in the tp right hand corner, then on the next map they could be in the top middle, it changes on each map.
