Hah, I wish there was a tutorial that explained what to do to make SFC textures A2 ready... someone want to give it a shot?
Thats easy mate, just convert them to tga format, uncompressed of course.
that I can do :) but is there a simple way to decrease the # of texture files when porting a ship from SFC to A2?

Unfortunally no. I have been of late doing conversions and the only way to do this is to manually add the textures into one file and reassigning and repositing the textures. :(
pooo, at least the texture files are small... sometimes...
Yeah it is a pain in the butt, some modellers do actually texture models like A2 does but alot don't which makes converting alot harder.
But what is life without a challenge.
yeah, that would mean I actually have free time... lol.
EDIT: BTW you know you can hyperlink your sig pic right...
Hello: So, if we want a SFC ship ported to Armada2, then we'll have to "make" new texture files by copying and pasting the numerous texture files of the original ship  . One good case of this is the Federation_Luxury_Warp_Cruise_Liner wich contains 66 texture mini files!!
Its not hard if you know what you're doing

You also have to remap the textures to the mesh after copying.
