Hello :) I am working a new MOD for Armada 2, it is to mainly (For version 0.01 to 1.00 at least) just update ODF files , making EVERY Ship more powerfull, to its near startrek realism point, obviously this is alot of ODF editing, and its easy to overbalance things, I'm looking for people who can test my progress with it evernow and again, and you thoughts on this idea.

Thanks :)

wouldn't the balance be the same if you made everything more powerful? example. You have two ships, soverign and the warbird. A basic stat would be galaxy hull = 50, galaxy fire = 10. The rompulan warbird is hull - 50 fire - 10. If you made them both 20 points higher, then it would be the same thing, only take longer to kill.

Everything in game will be more powerfull yes, but they won't be equal, as in the Borg vessels will be slightly stronger than there other species counterparts. Unfortunatly at this time i have no permissions for adding things. nor do i have the knowledge to remove a species. (8472)

I think this particular idea's been done before-- I'd take a look at the existing mods on-site before I get too far along. Besides which, for most of us, using stock only really happens in online/multiplayer, and even then, only because it has to for the game to work (unless everyone has the same mod setup). And removing a species should be easy to do (the file for that would be odf\other\races.odf --cut out a species but be sure to change the number of overall species at the top of the file).

Yeah, like i say, I'm new to this, I'm rubbish at GFX, so all i can do is compile my own ODFs, then later on try getting permission for other stuff
