Hello I was wandering if someone had any idea of how to add the smoke effect to ships when they get damaged:confused: . I have a few ships that dont have the effect. Thanks Gavin1701:)

u need to be able to edit the models,can u on these or not?

Yes, i can easily edit the models, what do i need to do, i also would like damage textures as well

they are emmiters that you have to add to the model, MAP, hardpoint tutorial. these are joints in milkshape taht u have to add into the hierarchy [COLOR=black]Child Node[/COLOR][COLOR=black] - Venting Damage[/COLOR][COLOR=black][/COLOR] [COLOR=black]Now as you've probably noticed practically every model used in both games has a type of venting for the damage which happens during combat to the LIFE SUPPORT and ENGINES. Both these nodes are more commonly known as "emitters", and as with all damage nodes are assigned only to the sub parent nodes which control them. The red plasma type venting is linked to the engines sub parent node, and the blue/white type venting is linked to the life sub type parent node. Also both these are available in three size types (small, medium and large. An extra large version is referenced in the emitter.spr file so if you wish to use it study the .spr file.). Anyway, these nodes are named directly using the [/COLOR][COLOR=red]e_[/COLOR][COLOR=black] reference in the following way:[/COLOR] [COLOR=black] [/COLOR] [COLOR=red]e_steamsml[/COLOR] [COLOR=red]e_plasmasml[/COLOR]

Right i know how to do it now, and have for ages. I know this thread is old, but i may as well add to it instead of creating a new one, besides it is about Smoke FX. I created some new Emitter FX and wanted to show you them. Here They Are. Request A color If You Want:p

Some good stuff their Gavin ;) Though I'd be more race-specific. For example, within Zero Hour, I'm only planning to have the smoke of the species. Thus having Blue for the Federation (because of the Nacelles), Green for the Romulan & Borg, an Orange / Yellow for the Cardassians, and a Red(ish) for the Klingons.

Then I'd just apply them to the engines and or engines & life support.

Edit: The only problem I can see with that ship, is that it is s'pose to be Derelict, yet the engines are still glowing :p
