I finaly installed the reman rebellion and overwrote the tholians on there. Most of the text for the tholians is still there and I'm guessing the guy that made it had the tholians already because of some of the text I found in the edited files. Now this is my question, do I simply redo the tholians like they were never there to start and add all the build buttons and stuff like that back in or how do I do it to get the tholians working with the remans in the same game? I've never had 2 additional races in the game at once is why I'm asking.

It is very possible for 2 races, I have put Vulcans,Ferengi,Tholians, A borg Mod and Star Wars...plus the stock 6 races all in 1 game.

See the other thread I posted in for the basic copying rules.

Most of the time it's rare that ship and station odf's per race conflict with each other.

Most problems are with gui_global,techtree, and weapons.spr

The races.odf is needed in order to start a race as playable

A bit of a minor problem here now. I went back and changed all of the stuff that the read me said to change in the tholian race stuff. I think there could be a minor conflict going on with the way everything is set. It didn't say anything about the free tech file or the no super weapon file so I didn't do anything with it. I have my redone my races file to include the tholians and the remans at once. This is the current state of my race file. numberOfRaces = 11 race0 = "borg.odf" race1 = "fed.odf" race2 = "kling.odf" race3 = "rom.odf" race4 = "card.odf" race5 = "fer.odf" race6 = "species8472.odf" race7 = "reman.odf" // this for a certain reman special weapon race8 = "terran.odf" race9 = "tholian.odf" // this one is 'uninhabited' for planets race10 = "norace.odf" I'm not sure what the problem could be from here. Is there something else I need to do to bring the tholians back online that I didn't do right or what should I do? I have everything set the way the instructions say to have but for some reason it won't work right. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Open the tholians.odf and make sure the instant action slot number is correct(it may not match what the number is in the races.odf). If you have 2 races sharing the same instant action number... it won't work.

I tried changing the odf like you said and it did have the same slot number. I gave the tholians slot 7 and left the remans as slot 6. For some reason my tholians still won't come online. I tried to pull up the race selection menu in instant action and the tholians still weren't there. Any ideas because i'm stumped?

What are the terran set at?

It looks like they should be at 7 and tholians should be at 8.

tried changing the slots like you said but still nothing for some reason. I don't know if they're just not compatable or what it is. I have only 2 techtree files I haven't redone to include tholians because the tholian thing never said anything about them so I didn't bother. Still lost on ideas.

As long as you have tholians in tech1(and use it in the game) the rest won't affect it.

When I mod...that's all I use

Instant action slot is the only one I really know of that affects it. Make sure the spelling matches from the races.odf and the actual tholians folder.

Just to keep your sanity I'd recommend going through all the race odfs... just to cover your tracks. Makes sure all the numbers are correct: 0 through 8 . Also make sure the fer(ferengi, are not counted).

i made a list of the slot numbers for the races and this is what I came up with. I couldn't find my 8472 odf to look at it or I would have. There could be a thing with my 8472 but it still works. borg-1 klingon-3 federation-0 cardasian-4 romulan-2 tholian-8 reman-6 8472- That's the list I currently have. I'm guessing the 8472 would be slot 5 but I'm not for sure because i couldn't find the odf for it. What's the label for the other folder because there's several more things in there for 8472 stuff.

Is terran there as 7? if you don't have one as 7 then you need to move tholian down to 7.

Species8472.odf is the correct folder. the stock version does have them as 5.

Always remember that however you have them spelled in the races.odf is what it must be for their file.
