I've got this idea for my Prometheus units, where I give each ship an option in how they will evolve... and need some help with setting it up.

What I would like to do is have the Prom tuck away three options for evolving, like a research station. Three possible builds.

Any thoughts on how to proceed?

Why don't you just copy the evolution stuff from the 8472 Embryo .ODFs over and replace the list of 8472 ships with your desired Prometheus builds?

What I really should do is play an Instant Action as 8472 just to remember what evolving looks like and how it works. I don't think I've played them once in 5 years.

On a whim, I made the Darius station in Ghost's Compilation Mod last night, where the Enterprise evolves from the little Akiraprise to the Enterprise-E, and for the first time I'm kind of inspired to play with evolution.

You can also use the classlabel from Borg Fusion, it's an instant "evolution" but it works?

Well, using research pods (as in the first post) has been around for years. The first Seperation/MVAM mod, for Armada 1, was this. You build a kind of dummy unit (a shuttlepod, i think it was), then from that research the three parts. The dummy unit then had a special weapon (self destruct) that destroyed itself and from that the three parts of the ship flew off. It wasn't perfect though.

To be honest though, nowadays, why not just use the Patch Project and use the new replaceweapon?

What is replaceweapon and how do I use it?!? Is there a tutorial somewhere?
