Hi, I've got an idea for a new mod... what about nebulas where u get ressources, but if u shoot nearby such a nebula there will be a big explosion. A little bit like in Star Trek 9 Insurrection. So if anyone is able to make this please do it!!!:nodding: :nodding: :nodding: ciao

Well, there is the nebula destruction weapon, or whatever the Behemoth has in its array of ballistic weaponary! You could just re-equip it to other ships. It wouldn't actually be destroying the nebula but does damage to all ships inside. As for actually destroying a nebula, you'd need to start palying around with SOD's and lots of other things. I think these are hardcoded into the game, so achieving 100% of what you want is simply not going to happen.

Well, you certainly won't be able to do both, but one or the other could be done.

Well, you don't need to change the weapon itself, merely a few things: If you find the behemoth odf file, which is through this route: Main Star Trek Armada II Directory (usually under activision, program files in the c drive)--->odf--->ships--->8472_behemoth. Open that. Scroll down until you find this line: weapon3 = "gnebulaFlux" and copy the "gnebulaFlux" part. Or, you could simply copy the entry I've shwon you above :p. With that entry, find another ship, let's say you're using the Sovereign. Open that and scroll down and insert the line and give it to the Sovereign like you would any normal weapon. (You may want to increase the maximum special energy it has but simply adding a nought on the end of the current figure...). Then, open the tech1.1 file (make sure you've un-checked the read-only box in its properties) and scroll down to the weapon entry in that (it'll be under Species 8472 special weapons). When you find the entry delete everything apart from its coding, ie name.odf (name in this case being the weapon) and place a 0 next to it. This means when the ships that can use it are built, they'll have it automatically. That's a very basic way of doing it, but, form that you should be able to do something with it.

I think I get you, is it that when a ship enters a nebula, by firing its wepaons in it it causes some sort of disturbance (thus damaging ships inside?)

ur in the right direction, but first did u see star trek 9 insurrection? if u did u maybe know what I mean... otherwise... 1.Ship flies in a nebula 2.enemy ship comes and fires 3.the fired weapon (for example a phaser) causes a big explosion cause of the nebula in which it was fired I hope u can understand me now

So really you want a nebula to enhance weapons instead of disabling I know this isn't extactly what happens in insurrection but it's close to what you mean either way i don't think can be done cause of the "modding restrictions" with the current source code.

Giving a nebula beneficial properties...well, if you can increase shield recharge rate I guess it should be possible to do the same with weapon strength, or weapon rate, either would get a similar result=more damage.
