OK, I've been working on hardpointing the meshes released by FahreS, and as usual I followed the instructions on the hardpoint tutorial, but when I tried to test one of the weapon hardpoints, the weapon fires from a point on the ship that is nowhere near the hardpoint I placed on the model. Any ideas on how to solve this?, cos if I can't find out how to fix it it's gonna be a real problem. Thanks in advance :)
Hello: I don't know really, but from what I leanred following the rotation tutorial made by FahreS, you must place the first hardpoint and don't touch it until you crate hardpoint number two, that way all hardpoints will face in the correct angle, after you putted the second one, you can change name, move them or rotate them as you please. That id also useful for strobes that require rotation, vents and hull damages (when crew gets low). I hope this can help you a bit :)
Maybe you havent placed h_scene root (or how youve called it) and h_hardpoints in the center of the axis?
Yea, it happened to me too. Chances are you haven't placed the h_scene root and h_hardpoint nodes in the absolute center of the model (0,0,0 on the axis).
Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I will try everything you've all suggested and let you know if it works :)
Thanks again, I've fixed the problem and the bomber now has weapons :)
Hello: Those are great news :)
Is there a way to rotate hardpoints in ms3d?
Look at Chile's first post.
I've tried that tutorial and I have gotten no luck, so I don't think it works. Maybe in some old versions of MS3D, but it doesn't work on mine. Not properly anyway. Inform us if you get any good results.
