I made a model for Startrek Armada 2 and I put it up and when I build it and it comes out of the shipyard it comes out completely invisible, how do I fix this?
define invisible, completely nothing can be seen, only some parts can be seen, it appears inside out....
nothing can be seen at all
sounds like an ms3d issue, I dont use it but I know that for each seperate peice of mesh you use there has to be a corresponding node (m_meshname), hopefully someone better versed in ms3d can tell us if this is correct.

That is correct. I use MS3D and for each group, you must have a mesh node. For example: if you have the following groups Bridge Hull Nacelles Saucer
Then you need the following mesh nodes attatched to your root node: m_Bridge m_Hull m_Nacelles m_Saucer.
You also must make sure the textures for the ship are in the Textures/RGB directory.
Hope this helps.
Ok I got it to appear, but it is coming out all freaky looking it has the shapes of what I want, but it is all like spread out and stuff, can someone help me Also the textures aren't appearing
Well the mesh explosion is an xform issue, not sure what they call that in MS3D, again I'll have to difer that one.
The texture problem is most commonly a save issue, when you are saving it check the options and make sure it's uncompressed.
Sounds like you still have a heirarccy issue. If you are using Milkshape try this. 1. Delete the exsisting hierarchy 2. Create a joint at the 0,0,0 coordinates call it h_root 3. Create another joint subordinate to h_root and call it m_meshanme...where meshname is the actual name of mesh group you have for the model. 4. Repeat step 3 for as many mesh groups that you have ensuring that each one is directly subordinate to the h_Scene Root 5. Save the model 6. Export it out as a sod 7. Test the model in the storm 2d viewer 8. REport nack with the results
OK, I took peppermans instructions and got it to work, however texture is still a problem how do I set up the texture?

What is wrong with the texture? If is that the texture is not mapped properly, you need to use the "texture coordinate window" found in the "window" tab at the top control bar of milkshape.
