Hi I’ve trying to find out the hardpoints of a craft and according to all the stuff I have read this is possible using Milkshape 3D. I have downloaded it and the Assimsoft plugins but still no joy. I cannot seem to import the SOD files at all. No filetype of SOD is available in the import drop-down. Does anyone know how to import these SOD files using Milkshape. Any help would be appreciated.
http://chumbalum.swissquake.ch/files/MilkShape%20Plugins%20R4%20No%20Installer.zip Thats the set of files you need. If you don't already have them. Otherwise, maybe you installed it wrong. =/
Thanks for your reply. Yes I have these files - as it says there is no installer so I just copied the files into the Milkshape directory. I am using the latest version of Milkshape (1.8.1b) but just the trial version. How would suggest I go about installing the plugin or does this only work with the registered version?
As far as I know, the SOD importer is not avail (however a select few do have it, it will not be shared). The exporter is all that is avail.
Well I have the SOD Importer for Milkshape, and the Exporter, BOTH from the Milkshape Plugins R4 No Installer, which is that link up there. Simply copy the contents of that folder into your Milkshape directory. I know it doesn't come with a readme, which is a tad confusing. Took me a while to figure out where it had to go. It only imports stock A1 or A2 SOD files though, to stop people changing others models. It also exports. It comes with other importers and exporters too, mostly for Trek games. And I've got Milkshape 1.8.0 registered, but I had the plugins before I registered.
Ahhh, I knew it wouldnt import non-stock models.
I download the plugin from your link and copied the files again into the Milkshape directory and now I have the Star Trek Armada (SOD) import in the drop down box. It does only work when you register Milkshape (which I've now done) and it does only import stock models. But I'm happy I can see all the hardpoints and that's what I wanted to do.
Thats weird, it worked with mine when it wasn't registered =/ Well, I guess programs change with updates.
