You will need a good modeling program. Milkshape is your best bet
Yes, you can download the mod for SFC from the site you referenced and use Milkshap to convert it over to Armada. I think it woul dbe a fairly easy conversion for you. You can find Milkshape here: chUmbaLum sOft and the plug-ins you'll need are SFC/Armada/BC/Others import and export with hardpoint/node editing by Chris Graham, Assimilation Software. THey can be found here: chUmbaLum sOft Good luck!

Well it's one thing you'll need to learn, all the available modellers left in the community are engulfed in their own projects. There aren't many left to be honest, about 8 or so. Many of which have only learnt to model in the past few years, I myself only learnt in 2008 and only recently (2010) leant to texture correctly.
Luckly there are many tutorials on how to texture and model and the sites that are left you'll find some help in your endeavour to learn. You may also be lucky if the model of the ship you want is already available for Bridge Commander or Starfleet Command, then a simple conversion is all that will be needed.
Best of luck. :)
Here's the States Class!!! Hope you like it. I love playing my Ship that I designed over 20 years age. Thank you all that helped me!
