Go to your ArmadaII files, go to odf/other folder, find the species8472.odf file in there you will see at the end the starting amounts so you can edit that to start with zero.
Do I need to use an odf Editor from Armada 2 Files to edit it or just edit it from the Map Editor?
You can either use the odf editor or manually edit the odf file. I don't think you need the MAP Editor. You need to change the odf.

It's not really a modding issue because I said I was making an assault map. That is more a mapping issue to me. I am not making a mod, I am making a map. Well, it doesn't really matter where you move it to I don't care. Anyways, the odf editor didn't do anything. I am trying a way to edit biomatter so that Species will start with zero or low resources like this guy did in this screenshot I took below here.
This guy made biomatter to 69 somehow.
And on mine, I have biomatter on 17750 and how I change that?
See the differences?
When I tested my map some the players got Species and started with a lot of resources and everybody else and I got Federation, Klingons, Romulans, Borg, or Cardassians and started with zero resources. That what I want to fix so that it can be like the other assault maps I have that they start with zero resources and to build up.
archerscott is correct what you need to do is edit the species8472.odf its in the odf/other folder. Scroll down to the bottom and change the normalBiomatter to whatever amount that you want. You can edit the odf with notepad, you don't need an odf editor.
There is one small problem with that, it won't let me save the changes on Notepad.
Right click on the odf file. go to properties. Then uncheck the read-only box in the attributes. It should let you save the changes now. :)
Thanks, it work but when I went to edit my map, it still says 17750 biomatter. Do I just ignore that or I done something wrong?
