well, it'd probably be doable but there would be one major draw back which, I think, prohibits it's use... The AI would never use it.

Also you wouldn't need 4 models, 3 as I see it...

normal ship one that plays a build animation of dropping into subspace another that plays a build animation of exiting

once the animations are complete it'd look normal, or you could make some change to illustrate subspace.

Use the phase cloak weapon instead. You get the same results except the speed. combine that with the impulse booster and their you go.

I've seen the AI use the wormhole before. Remember that the AI doesn't use it's specials that much in the stock game in the first place.

It's also worth considering that if the AI did use transwarp you probably wouldn't notice even if you were looking at the screen. It doesn't have an exit effect so the ship would just appear, and the interceptor is pretty small and not particularly tactically significant.

Good points.

Well, I haven't made much overall progress on the mod so far... been busy in life, and when I do work on the mod I'm trying to figure out the really hard and time intensive stuff, like getting beam weapons right. I did get the Sobek Corvette (a Vasudan ship) in a little while back, so here's a picture of it along with a few Fenris Cruisers.

Hope to get everything to the point soon to where I can do a video.
