I'm trying to figure out a way to incorporate Hero Ships into Instant Action game play. The Federation ships I would like to incorporate are Enterprise-E, Avenger, Voyager, Titan, and possibly an Akira with my own voices. For the Borg, Locutus' Cube and the Queen's Diamond. For the Klingons, Martok's ship and a special Qeh'Ral. For the Cardassians, a Garak-helmed Hutet. Etc.

The first option would be to add a specific yard for them. I just hate the idea though that it would be possible to build two Enterprise-E's. Does anyone know of a way to make it possible that only one of this ship can be created?

I could always include the Heroes at the launch. Starting with the listed Federations ships above, can anyone suggest a good balance for each race?

Fleet ops Patch Project. Located in the downloads list on this site and possibly as one of the most downloaded files as well. It has been made so that one of the many additions is to allow the construction of a single one of a particular class (i.e a new ODF command).

yes, bless their cotton socks :) add the patch then add this line to your hero ship.

maxBuildableNumber = 1

The way ive done it is that I have a special shuttle which docks with a specific ship to produce a single Hero ship. For example my AVM shuttle docks with an Excalibur to produce the Excalibur Class S31 Encounter. The Encounter also has an excape pod weapon which launches the shuttle as well as escape pods. The shuttle can then either dock with another Excalibur, or it has a fusion weapon to turn it to an identical shuttle which can dock with the Nor-Class starbase.

Sorry, not a fusion weapon, uses the replaceWeapon, so it needs the FLOPS patch 1.2.5

I was thinking about something similar: Save the crew from certain death with escape pods. Of course launching the pods also started the self-destruct sequence. The only problem is that it isn't possible to put two separation "weapon" to one ship as I know. So I couldn't put E-Pods on the Prometheus and the Galaxy.

Just make two separate weapons, one for the prommy and one for the galaxy. The only problem i have is that my escape pods wont colonise (crash) into a planet until they've

1) Used colonypod weapon 2)Circled it lord knows how many times.

I tried it but it looks like if I'm using the Patch Project-way for the separation, the game don't allow me to use another Patch Project-way separation weapon.

What if someone made custom textures and voices for a majority of their ships? 20-40 different textures to each ship, effectively making each ship a Hero...

Aside from objections to texture-mapping and so on.... what would be the best way to build the ships?
