i am haveing a problem with getting the light maps to work on the ships im doing. when they are in game the ship is transparent. i have read westworlds big book of modding and i still cant seem to get them to work. does anyone know why this is happening?

are u sure that ur exporting the sod into A2 format and not A1

What application are you using to expor the SOD's? If you are using 3ds Max, check "color" beside Self-Illumination, if you're using Milkshape, someone else will have to chime in because I have no clue. If you are using max and don't understand what i'm saying, let me know i'll take a screenshot.

If you are using Milkshape, then change the "!lambert_" tag on the materials tab in the materials name to "!phong_". It must work.

k_merse is right. Just attach the "!phong_" tag to the front of your materials and that's it. Nothing else.

...and be sure that there is no tag add the end (for instance: delete the "_!noalpha" tag if there is one)

im kinda confused on what you guys mean. im useing milkshape3d 1.7.10 and adobe photoshop csd. could you give post an example file?

!phong_material

"material" is the name of the material. Export your .sods into A2 format. That's all.
