IceBite;5346363I'm goodwith starship odfs, but its those phhysics odfs I have issues with.
Well, since you won't look it up on SB34, here's a one-time only preview of just some of the fascinating content you'll find when you use tutorials instead of asking other people to do your modding for you by proxy:
physicsFile = "" Specifies what physics file is used for this ship. trekPhysicsFile = "" The included "Trek physics" files use slightly modified variants of the main physics files.
Insert those two lines in the station's .ODF, then pick a physics file. They're in odf/other, and they have the term 'phys' in them somewhere. Pick one and keep changing to another after another until you're happy with it. You'll probably want to go with 'constphys' or something with no warp in it. Watching your big-gun station break the light-speed barrier in pursuit of a fleeing adversary is probably not on your list of things to try.
And as the good Major says (and who would know better than he?), if you're not willing to experiment, then few people are going to indulge you and write it out for you. You don't have to be good at figuring things out-- just be good at figuring out what you just did, and how to undo it.
Not what I meant. I tried to make a physics file that allows stations to rotate, but I couldn't do it. I know how to assign physics files to a ship (I had to do so for the UNSC Gettysburg) and even modify some aspects of them, but I cannot make ones that allow ships to be immobile, but still turn.
You can't. If it turns, it has to be able to move. Try setting the combat and impulse speeds to 1 or something-- and crank up the turn rate. And kill the warp speed altogether.
I just want it to stay stationary. It's a Particle Cannon, not a Death Star.
I don't think it's possible. You could add an animation to it, but then the station will rotate constantly. Or you can set the moving speed to something very-very-very slow, while the turning speed to higher. Even stations can move after all as we saw in DS9 :D
