Right, I have an animated model that we cant seem to export with the aplha on the texture working. Could some1 who knows about testuring in Max please take a look? Im on MSN as [EMAIL="kevin_n_1982@hotmail.co.uk"]kevin_n_1982@hotmail.co.uk[/EMAIL] Cheers....

You need to change the tags in the material name. For a working alpha texture, change it to the following: !phong_materialname (where materialname is the material name), and it should work.

is this an A2 or A1 model and for A2 do you want to use the alpha channel as light map ??

A2, and yes as a light map. There is another thread bout this now anyway. I think it will get sorted.

Well, if I remember correctly the tags are what makes the lightmaps/alpha textures work properly in A2, rather than the program. MS3D doesn't need the tags to display alphas, the game does.

Max doesnt use tags. It has been sorted now anyway.

Max and milkshape are very different and most of those differances favour 3Dmax. A lot of things are easier from Hardpointing to (apparently) lightmaping. But as Score pointed out the issue is resolved, thanks. Rod
